The Yamaha EMF Electric scooter is the first in Taiwan to launch the battery-swapping EV in partnership with Gogoro.
The recent announcement of the Yamaha EMF Electric scooter in Taiwan is an ongoing collaboration with Gogoro Inc. Its first appearance will be this coming March 2022. It will feature a swappable battery for a longer trip capability.
Its first model release, the EC-05, made a public release last 2019. This OEM model by Yamaha Motor is based on the platform of a Gogoro production vehicle.
In contrast, its chassis is from Gogoro Design Kit, and Yamaha Motor Taiwan Co., Ltd will introduce it to the market. Moreover, the small-diameter wheel is set by designers and engineers to produce the best acceleration.
Further, the EMF’s unique styling sets it apart from other two-wheeled EVs to date. These make it a model that is fun and full of friendly appeal.
The EMF will be able to use the many GoStation® battery-swapping stations installed throughout Taiwan by Gogoro Energy Network.
The Yamaha Motor Group Environmental Plan 2050 will be revisited by July of this year. A new goal is to aim for carbon neutrality throughout all of its business activities. That includes the life cycles of its products until the target year of 2050.
Another goal is to reduce Scope 3 (Use of sold products) CO2 emissions by 90% by 2050. That is in comparison to the past 2010’s levels. The EMF is a strategic electric vehicle that will help achieve this goal.
We are not yet expecting this beautiful EV bike here in the Philippines but it is interesting to witness this technology soon.
