Royal Enfield made a 2-day event to launch the latest offer in the Philippines – Shotgun 650. This is a new motorcycle often compared to the Meteor. However, it is a completely built motorcycle that is different from it. The design is retro-classic but also futuristic. It is inspired by the SG650, the concept ride made by Royal Enfield. This concept was unveiled during the EICMA 2021.

We had a chance to ride these variants for almost 30 km back and forth. The ride and feel are justifiably different from the cruiser Meteor that we are familiar with. The riding posture does not come close to the cruiser stance. It was more of a standard riding position. Your arms were not too high for a cruiser. They were also not too low for a cafe racer. The legs were relaxed after reaching the foot brake and clutch.

This allows you to focus on enjoying the ride. The soothing sound of the engine adds to the experience. It features a 650cc twin-cylinder engine. The sweet spot is almost always staying in 3rd or 4th gear at 60 – 80 kph on every twist and turn. You can also ride with a pillion by availing of the accessory pillion seat. Surprisingly, it is comfortable to ride from the back rider’s point of view. But we will ride on this on unpaved road conditions and at higher speed to further focus on this point.
