Yamaha Motor Develops New System for Evaluating Riding Skills — Improving Rider Ability through Analysis and Feedback

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. developed the Yamaha Riding Feedback System (YRFS). It provides visual feedback and results to evaluate riding skills of the riders. Introduced in the Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) curriculum last April 10, 2021, and soon in all YRA sites overseas.
The YRFS uses a simple GPS-based logger device. It acquires motorcycle position, and speed. It records for acceleration, deceleration and cornering during the ride into visual form. Then listed on a feedback sheet given to the participant after the lesson. Participants will then advise comments on body positioning while cornering. By providing a comparison on data gathered, rider’s performance will do better indicating areas needed for attention
Yamaha will first kick off usage with safe riding activities in Japan, and then gradually in Thailand, China and other Yamaha Riding Academy (YRA) sites overseas.
