Hyundai is making EVs more accessible to Filipinos by offering free EV charging to all owners of EVs and plug-in hybrid cars
Hyundai Motor Philippines and SM Supermalls have partnered to expand EV charging infrastructure in the Philippines. The two companies will install six EV charging stations in SM malls across the country, starting with the SM Mall of Asia in July 2023.

EVs more accessible to Filipinos
The EV charging stations will be free of charge to all owners of EVs and plug-in hybrid cars, regardless of their brand. This is part of Hyundai’s commitment to sustainability and its goal of making EVs more accessible to Filipinos.

“We are very fortunate to be aligned with a company whose approach to sustainability is as holistic as ours,” said Cecil Capacete, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor Philippines. “We are glad that we get to contribute to one of the four main pillars of their green movement which is energy.”

SM Supermalls commit to net zero emissions
SM Supermalls is the country’s largest mall property developer and operator, with 83 malls nationwide. The company is also committed to sustainability and has set a goal of net zero emissions by 2040.

“At SM, we build on our long-term strategy toward net zero emissions by 2040,” said Steven T. Tan, President of SM Supermalls. “We commit to addressing issues that will impact the next generations and welcome Hyundai as our partner in this advocacy.”

Making EVs convenient and accessible for Filipinos.
The EV charging stations at SM malls will be a welcome addition to the Philippines’ EV infrastructure. The country has a growing number of EVs on the road, but there are still limited charging options available. This partnership will help to make EVs more convenient and accessible for Filipinos.

Free-of-charge EV charging stations
If you are an EV owner or are considering buying an EV, be sure to check out the EV charging stations at SM malls. These stations are free of charge and convenient to use, making it easy to keep your EV charged up.

A network of certified EV dealers across the Philippines
In addition to the six EV charging stations at SM malls, Hyundai also has a network of certified EV dealers across the Philippines. These dealers are equipped with both AC and DC chargers, so you can always find a place to charge your EV.

Hyundai is committed to making EVs more accessible to Filipinos. The company’s partnership with SM Supermalls and its network of certified EV dealers are just two examples of how Hyundai is working to make EVs a reality for more people.
