inDrive and DSWD Roll Out Large-Scale cash relief assistance for Partner Drivers

OFFICIAL RELEASE: inDrive Philippines | PUBLISHER: ADVAI
Manila, 19 May 2026 – Global ride-hailing platform inDrive and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) facilitated the distribution of the Php 5,000 cash relief assistance to thousands of inDrive partner drivers through a special payout activity organized together with the DSWD last May 16 at the SMX Convention Center Manila in Pasay City.
The initiative was mounted in response to DSWD’s directive for TNVS companies to establish their own payout centers, ensuring faster and more organized disbursement amid ongoing fuel price hikes affecting driver livelihoods.
Demonstrating strong operational leadership, inDrive designed and executed the end-to-end payout system from driver communications to on-ground logistics ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for thousands of beneficiaries. The company activated a multi-channel notification system via SMS and in-app messaging to reach verified drivers, while implementing a structured, color-coded batch system to manage high volumes and minimize wait times.
On-site, inDrive mobilized a full-scale operational team alongside government representatives, providing real-time assistance, queue management, and verification support throughout the day. A dedicated medical team was also deployed to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees, underscoring the company’s commitment to responsible execution at scale.
Ahead of the payout, inDrive undertook extensive groundwork to safeguard the integrity of the distribution process. This included proactively assisting drivers in validating and updating their records, ensuring compliance with requirements set by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). These pre-event measures significantly reduced discrepancies and enabled a smoother claims process on the day itself.

“The past few months have not been easy for the ride-hailing industry, most especially for our partner drivers. As an advocate for a fairer TNVS industry, we know it is our responsibility to help our partner drivers maintain their earnings amid rising fuel costs,” inDrive Philippines Country Manager Sofia Guinto said.
“Through our partnership with the DSWD and the LTFRB, the cash relief assistance payout enabled us to support a significant number of our partner drivers. We hope to continue working with the government in advocating for fairer earning opportunities for our partner drivers in the long run,” Guinto added.
DSWD Undersecretary for Operations Pinky Romualdez also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in ensuring timely support for TNVS drivers affected by rising fuel prices.
“This initiative demonstrates how government agencies and TNVS companies can work together to deliver immediate and meaningful assistance to our transport workers. We thank inDrive for organizing this large-scale payout for its partner drivers,” Romualdez said.

Beyond the cash assistance, inDrive continues to champion a driver-first approach through sustained, structural support. The platform maintains one of the lowest commission rates in the market at an effective 8.92%, with further reductions in select high-demand areas to as low as 1% helping drivers maximize their take-home earnings.
In addition, inDrive absorbs 100% of government-mandated discounts for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and students—ensuring that drivers are not financially burdened by these social obligations. Partner drivers also benefit from SeaOil fuel discounts, rewards programs, and ongoing incentive initiatives designed to ease operational costs.
Through this cash relief assistance payout, inDrive and DSWD showcase the power of interagency collaboration in empowering drivers amid challenges. For more updates on inDrive’s driver-first support programs in the Philippines, visit www.inDrive.com and inDrive Philippines’ Official Facebook page.
