The Audi customer racing team is a group of professional drivers and mechanics who race Audi vehicles in various competitions around the world. In 2023, they will be competing in the Kumho TCR World Tour with the Audi RS 3 LMS.
The Audi RS 3 LMS is a racing version of the Audi RS 3 sedan. It features a modified version of the road car’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing up to 350 horsepower.

Audi customer team competes in the 2023 Kumho TCR World Tour with the Audi RS 3 LMS
The Audi RS 3 LMS is an incredibly successful model in the Audi Sport customer racing program, with 29 overall titles and 72 class titles since 2017. The touring car has even won the worldwide “TCR Model of the Year” award three times. With 17 individual victories in the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup over the past five years, it has become a fixture in the top field. Now, the Kumho TCR World Tour, a new global series for TCR race cars, will begin in 2023, with Audi Sport Team Comtoyou set to compete with two Audi RS 3 LMS cars and a top-class driver line-up.
The Kumho TCR World Tour features nine race weekends across four continents, including circuits in Europe, South America, Australia, and Asia. Competitors will race for the Kumho TCR World Cup in the drivers’ and team standings. The race format includes two qualifying sessions and two sprint races, with three sprints at the events in Australia. The TCR World Tour is also integrated into local events and starting grids, with the top six participants in qualifying receiving points and the top 15 cars at the finish scoring points in the race.
“We are delighted that Jean-Michel Baert and his team are once again doing pioneering work and will be involved in the new Kumho TCR World Tour from day one, just as he did in the FIA WTCR back then,” says Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.
Audi Sport customer racing driver Frédéric Vervisch, who has won major endurance races for Audi Sport in the GT3 discipline, will join the Comtoyou team for the Kumho TCR World Tour. The team has also signed accomplished touring car expert Rob Huff. The Audi RS 3 LMS is the brand’s entry-level model for customer racing, and more than 80 units have already been handed over to customers worldwide.
Founded by Jean-Michel Baert, the Comtoyou Racing team has won the TCR Europe drivers’ championship twice and several class titles with the Audi RS 3 LMS. The team’s biggest program to date includes 43 races over 30 weekends, including the TCR World Tour, TCR Europe, and the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.
