Before we talk about custom building, paint jobs, and bespoke parts, let’s go down with he basics. Yamaha Motor Philippines offered an opportunity to test ride the PG-1 at the Kustomanila open field area. It was an incredible feeling. We had a safe ride experience on the PG-1 track. The track truly lives up to its ability as an “all-around bike”.
We registered seamlessly under the watchful eyes of the Yamaha Riding Academy coaches. A dedicated safety crew ensured our safety. An insightful briefing about the ride and the track follows. Geared up with essential safety equipment, and then hit the track with expert guidance. The PG-1 “melts into” the curves and straightaways. The nimble handling and comfortable ride underscored why this bike is becoming a favorite. It’s a perfect foundation for whatever path you choose – from city commutes to off-road explorations.
The PG-1 Traveler’s Tales from the Road
The Yamaha PG-1 isn’t just about looking good, it’s about the journeys it enables. The “Yamaha PG-1 Traveler’s Spills” category celebrated that spirit. It honors riders whose bikes have become trusted companions on countless adventures. And it was expressed vividly with this custom-built category of the competition. Bernard Salamat, Adrian Hernandez, and Oliver Herrera took the highest spots in 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place.
The PG-1 Tapper Still Unique Vision
The Yamaha PG-1 embodies a unique adventure spirit with its specific style and aesthetics. It retains its distinct look with a minimalist resemblance, which makes it super lightweight. As a result, it can carry truckloads of baggage. Perfect for camping. And a huge congratulations to Crisanto Francisco, who happens to embody that spirit with this build. Crisanto Francisco took home a handful of prizes from Loboo waterproof bags. He also won the 1st place plaque in the Yamaha PG-1 Camper’s Build category.
The People Have Spoken: The PG-1 People’s Choice
When the crowd gets to vote, you know it’s going to be something special. The “Yamaha PG-1 People’s Choice Award” was all about connection. The well-deserved winner was Ton Dy. His vision captivated many, earning him a Blue Pool air compressor and essential tools for any rider.
Beyond the Wrench: Coffee Talk with the Masters
One of the most inspiring parts of the event wasn’t under the bright lights. The builders themselves had casual conversations. They shared their experiences and intimate moments with PG-1 while they’re on the wrench. Additionally, they shared their experiences related to the ins and outs of the build-off. This and the custom trade have led them to appreciate the Yamaha PG-1 even more.
The Masters at Work: The Yamaha PG-1 Builders Competition
The main event truly showcased the “lifestyle on wheels” custom culture highlighted through the PG-1. The builders’ competition was represented by five incredible custom garages. Handed a PG-1 and in just three weeks, it was transformed into the lifestyle aspects of different riding. The result is pure artistry. The bikes on show weren’t just machines. They were reflections of the builders’ character, skill, and sheer passion.
The votes came in, cast by the builders themselves, which made the victory even sweeter. Participants are already winners, taking home their builds of their own, handed by Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. The crowned 2025 Kustomanila PG-1 Champion was the incredible perspective of Motoyaki Customs. His love for tactical gear and outdoor has taken his creativity to the PG-1 lifestyle!
