MDPPA Saw a 4.6% Growth tallying 890,720 units

MDDPA recently released a performance data report for the first half of 2023 saw cumulative sales of 1.6 million units by the end of 2023.

MDDPA recently released its official performance data report from January to June of 2023. The association from Japanese motorcycle manufacturers – Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha, saw a prominent growth for the first half of 2023. A remarkable 4.6% increase as compared to last year’s same period. A total of 890,720 units. The Remaining month of this year is expected to surge further.

Similarly, the group estimated a conservative 5% increase that was projected to mark 1.6 million units by the end of 2023. It will break the record of the previous year of a remarkable 1.5 million units. Mr. Norminio “Boying” Mojica, MDPPA President, reiterated, “Drawing from historical trends, the months of September, October, and November have consistently exhibited heightened sales volumes, whereas the months of August and December have maintained an average profile in terms of monthly sales.”

A number of factors may arise to affect such projections. This includes rising prices of supply and its supply-chain issues; the impacts of the pandemic’s remote and in-person work set-up; and local & global economic factors. The group is optimistic, seeing the future of the motorcycle industry in the country, will continue to grow since motorcycle is a vital mode of transportation for many Filipinos.
