Beating the Clock and the Clouds: Resilience and Raw Power Define the Drag Master Cup 2026 at Clark

Under a blistering sun that baked the asphalt and filled the air with the thick, unmistakable scent of burning rubber, the Drag Master Cup 2026, powered by Pista Lubes and officially sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines, delivered an unforgettable weekend of high-stakes motorsport drama at the Clark International Speedway, Pampanga. While Day 1 set a blazing baseline of competition, Day 2 threw an unexpected twist into the mix, transforming a standard race weekend into a legendary test of machine endurance, resilience, and community unity.

Pista Lubes and Partner Sponsors: Fueling the Passion
At the heart of the weekend’s roaring success was Pista Lubes, distributed under Infiniteserv International Corp, stepping up as the title sponsor for the massive PHP 1,000,000 total prize pool mega-event. For a high-performance lubricant brand engineered to withstand extreme thermal stress, heavy friction, and punishing RPMs, there is no proving ground quite like a quarter-mile drag strip.
The event’s massive success was also made possible through the robust support of its official partner sponsors, including SSS It’s Racing, SYM, ASV, Vespa Caloocan, Brembo, TeckWrap, Spec V Performance Parts, Suomy, KYT, Qstarz, Ryde Culture, Alpinestars, Vee Rubber Performance Tires, FDR Tire, Specialist, and YSS Suspension.

Day 1 Pacesetters: Setting the Bar
Before the weather intervened, the opening day laid down fierce marker times across multiple heavily contested divisions:
- Diesel Class saw Jhay-R Manio take the Champion spot with a time of 17.002 seconds, Artchie Sebuc secure 1st Runner-Up at 16.118 seconds, and Ywell Manio finish as 2nd Runner-Up at 17.074 seconds.
- Hotstreet Class featured Jhay-R Manio claiming another Championship title with a blistering 16.026 seconds, followed closely by King Warren Domingo as 1st Runner-Up at 16.001 seconds, and Tiboy Dungca as 2nd Runner-Up at 16.121 seconds.
- Sportsman Class was topped by Rafael Evangelista as Champion with a 20.327-second pass, with Guian Carlo Namo securing 1st Runner-Up at 21.638 seconds, and Arlee Tapang taking 2nd Runner-Up at 14.451 seconds.
- Novelty Class crowned Arvin Millet as Champion with a fast 13.573 seconds, alongside Crenes Jayson Millet as 1st Runner-Up at 14.128 seconds, and drag racing icon Jonathan Tiu rounding out the podium as 2nd Runner-Up at 10.812 seconds.

The Deluge and the Comeback: Community Horsepower
With momentum rolling into Day 2 time trials and eliminations under intense heat, the weather suddenly intervened. A heavy afternoon downpour slammed into the Clark International Speedway, instantly halting the action and soaking the racing strip.
Faced with a major delay that threatened to wash out the remainder of the finals, race event management and the racing community pulled off one of the most unique moments of the season. In an incredible display of solidarity, the track management threw the gates open to anyone in the paddock willing to make a run down the strip. Race enthusiasts and crew cars flooded the tarmac utilizing their collective horsepower, tire heat, and sheer weight of numbers to help dry out the racing groove.
The community-led gamble paid off brilliantly. The track dried under the late afternoon sun, the tension mounted once more, and official racing roared back to life sharply around 5:00 PM to close out the remaining categories under the lights.

Day 2 Champions and Elite Podiums
As the late-afternoon sessions wrapped up under high intensity, the ultimate class winners finalized an epic weekend of competition:
- Quick 8 Class crowned Michael Gonzales as the official Champion.
- Super Pro Class saw Michael Gonzales secure the top spot as Champion, followed by Michael Puno taking 1st Runner-Up and Paul Moore claiming 2nd Runner-Up.
- Pro Class finished with KD Tommy dominating to take the Champion crown, with Jemil Joseph Dela Cruz earning 1st Runner-Up and Alexis Ariola rounding out the podium as 2nd Runner-Up.

From beating the afternoon deluge to crowning the kings of the strip, the Pista Lubes Drag Master Cup cemented its place as an elite milestone in Philippine motorsports history.
