Over 1,500 Riders Join the Cause, Raising Awareness and Funds for Prostate Cancer Research and Mental Health

OFFICIAL RELEASE: Distinguished Gentlemans Ride  | PUBLISHER: ADVAI

MANILA — On Sunday, May 18, the streets of Quezon City and Manila were transformed into a celebration of style, solidarity, and purpose as over 1,500 dapper ladies and gentlemen participated in the 2025 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR). The Manila ride, part of a global movement held across 121 cities worldwide, gathered classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts to raise awareness and critical funds for men’s health—specifically for prostate cancer research and mental health programs through Movember, the event’s official charity partner.

This year’s Manila edition contributed to the global effort with over PhP140,000 raised locally through individual and team fundraising. Worldwide, the DGR has set a goal of uniting over 120,000 riders to collectively make a lasting impact on men’s health.

Funds raised through DGR are channeled to Movember, the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. Thanks to DGR support, Movember has been able to fund biomedical research projects around the world aimed at improving the quality—and length—of life for men with prostate cancer. These include precision medicine projects like PARP inhibitors and PSMA-targeted radiation therapy, which help doctors match treatment plans to individual patients. This personalized approach improves outcomes while reducing time wasted on ineffective treatments.

This kind of research saves lives,” emphasized Mark Laccay, Ride Host of DGR Manila. “And every peso raised in Manila plays a part in that global impact. This isn’t just a ride. It’s a reminder to all the men in our lives—fathers, brothers, friends—that their health matters. Our mission is to make talking about prostate cancer and mental health as normal as talking about motorcycles. We’ve seen this event grow every year in both spirit and purpose, and I’m incredibly proud of our community.

The 2025 DGR Manila ride began with a pre-parade program featuring safety reminders from ride leaders, REAPERS’ Pow Bonifacio and RE Knights’ Alex Choa and heartfelt messages from Autohub President Willy Tee-Ten and ELF Lubricants Ph Senior Sales Executive Jason Delval, followed by a picturesque city ride through Quezon City all the way to the City of Manila. The festivities continued at the after-party, which was held at the iconic Century Park Hotel Manila. Hosted by Coach Mel Aquino and Raemin Reyes, the program featured stand-up comedy by The Kool Pals’ and Comedy Manila founder GB Labrador and Nonong Ballinan,  prizes from LABL, Triumph Motorcycles Philippines, Cigars Ph, Motostrada, Motomarket, Vintage Rider Manila and Jersey Mate, and The Most Dapper awards from ELF Lubricants Ph.

What makes DGR special is the connection—it’s a global ride with a local heart,” Laccay added. “It’s a celebration of life, style, and the power of coming together for something bigger than ourselves.

Since its inception in Sydney in 2012, The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride has grown into the world’s largest charity motorcycling event, raising millions for men’s health through its decade-long partnership with Movember. 2025 also marks the 10th year of global partnership with Hedon Helmets and the 12th year with Triumph Motorcycles, two brands that continue to support DGR’s mission with passion and purpose.
