For Christians, Holy Week is almost over and Easter Sunday is the concluding day we celebrate the festive resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter Sunday is celebrated differently in Lucban, Quezon. Just 2 hr 55 min (123.5 km) via South Luzon Expressway/Pan-Philippine Hwy/R-3 from Manila on a private car and of course lesser hours if on a motorcycle. Our friends from Lakwatsero Duo, with Youtube Channel 856,297 views, featured and experienced the food, drinks, music, and artistry of the “Buhusan Music Festival” last 2019.

The “Buhusan” or pouring of water, is a tradition practiced every Easter Sunday starting at six in the morning until the day ends. Visitors are invited to take “shots” (tagay) and “pulutan” on every corner of the street. Walk around and listen to the loud music played in every barangay until you reach the center of the celebration where the “Buhusan Music Festival” main activity is held.

It became so festive that it serves as an invitation to visitors to join and celebrate the month of May harvest season, “Pahiyas Festival”. It is the way locals give thanks to San Isidro De Labrador, the patron saint of the farmers. But of course, that is another story to tell.

Due to the pandemic that started last year, the festivity is canceled and open only to locals but our friends from the Radical Events & Digital Media made us feel that we are with them during the #BuhusanFestival2019 through their shortlist gallery.
