TGR Festival Brings Exciting Motorsports Action to the Philippines

Toyota Motor Philippines celebrated the love of cars and racing with its fans at the two-day TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival (TGR Festival)

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recently hosted the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival (TGR Festival) at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila, a two-day event that celebrated the company’s 35th anniversary and its passion for cars

Full-featured Activity

The event was attended by more than 6,000 people and featured a variety of activities, including driving exhibitions by Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, who is known by his racing pseudonym Morizo, as well as Japanese champion racers Norihiko Katsuta and Masahiro Sasaki. Local racing stars Alex Perez, Luis Gono, Marlon Stockinger, and celebrity racer Ryan Agoncillo also participated in the event.

Local Racers Competed for Top Honors

The TGR Festival also featured a Gymkhana Time Attack and Drifting Competition, where local racers competed for top honors. In the Gymkhana Time Attack, Angelo Magtoto took first place, followed by Jason Chuang and Christopher Co on the 1st day. For Day 2, John Erik Barrera was in 1st place, Mickey Carbonell – in 2nd place, and Matt Frederic See – in 3rd place for the first batch. The second batch was Andre Tan – in 1st place, Russel Cabrera – in 2nd place, and Makol Pasumbal – in 3rd place. In the Drifting Competition, Hans Jimenez won first place, followed by Paolo Agregado and Bryan Revilla.

Festival of Live Performances

In addition to the racing action, the TGR Festival also featured a variety of live performances, including performances by BGYO, Ely Buendia, Ben&Ben, Parokya ni Edgar, and Kamikazee.
