World’s First Micro-Plastic Collecting Device for Outboard Motors Developed by Suzuki To Be Used for Suzuki Marine Department Projects

SMC Marine Department is proud to be the first to develop a micro-plastic collecting device which can be attached to Suzuki Outboard Motors. This device will significantly help reduce micro-plastic wastes in the Philippine coastlines. And soon to introduce in the Asian market this coming year as an optional accessory.
Marine plastic waste contributes to a huge ecological impact that greatly affects marine life. This waste has become a concern and SMC made a step forward to address this concern. The outboard motors that pump seawater to cool the engine have a micro-plastic collecting device that collects micro-plastic waste found in the ocean water.
This effort has been installed and conducting coast clean-up campaigns, The Clean Ocean Project, pioneered by SMC in Japan and successfully done in Batangas, Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Davao, and this year 2020 last January, in Dumaguete.
