THIRD PLACE FOR APRILIA RACING AND MARCO BEZZECCHI IN ASSEN SPRINT
FIRST SPRINT PODIUM FOR ITALIAN RIDER ON RS-GP25, LORENZO SAVADORI 17TH

OFFICIAL RELEASE: Aprilia Philippines | PUBLISHER: ADVAI
Assen, 28 June 2025 – Aprilia Racing’s positive momentum continues at the TT Circuit Assen. In line with Friday’s strong performance, Marco Bezzecchi secured an excellent fifth place in Q2, his best qualifying result of the season so far. He made a solid start in the sprint race, holding his position off the line and moving into third by lap two. From that point on, he controlled the race with determination to the chequered flag, securing his first sprint podium in Aprilia Racing colours.

Lorenzo Savadori also performed well in qualifying, finishing 15th on the grid at the end of Q1. In the sprint race, the Italian rider crossed the line in seventeenth place after receiving an eight-second penalty for a tyre pressure infringement.

MARCO BEZZECCHI
“I knew how important it was to qualify well, but up to now, we hadn’t been able to make it count. This time, we managed to improve our qualifying performance. It’s still not enough; we must continue to strive for the best. That said, there’s no denying we’ve made real progress. The step I took between Friday and Saturday is what I am most pleased with. Starting from fifth gave us a real boost. I got off the line well and had strong pace, so I can only be satisfied.”
LORENZO SAVADORI
“It was a positive day. The bike is getting better and better. We still came away with a decent lap in qualifying, and the sprint pace was solid, as well. We were able to battle a little bit in the beginning. Overall, we’re working well. The bike is improving all the time, as Marco’s podium clearly shows.”

FABIANO STERLACCHINI
“The weekend started similarly to the previous ones. We’re making the most of the work we’ve done. Beyond outright speed, we’re increasingly able to bring all the pieces together – a result of both the bike’s development and Marco’s outstanding work. Today’s podium gives real weight to what we’re building, not just in terms of performance, but also through tangible results. We aim to maintain this momentum and remain consistently at the front. Credit should also go to Lorenzo, who continues to do an excellent job on the development side. We’re testing a range of solutions with him, and when they work, we try them with Marco, as well. It’s a highly effective filtering process that helps us push development forward throughout the race weekend. It’s been a great team effort.”
