Suzuki has sharpened its Katana for 2022, with the updated machine getting more power and an improved suite of electronics.
The new Suzuki Katana 2021 looks striking with more power. The new model is based on the new 2021 GSX-S1000 platform. Euro5 compliant, Katana produces 152PS at 11,000rpm and a broader spread of torque across the rev range as compared to the preceding model. This is due to the smooth delivery via a new ride-by-wire throttle. And also, the new intake and exhaust camshaft, together with new valve springs, new exhaust, and a new airbox contribute to this fact.
It uses fully adjustable KYB front forks and rebound damping adjustable rear shock. Brembo monobloc calipers bite 310mm front discs. Six-spoke. And cast aluminium wheels shod with Dunlop SPORTMAX Roadsport2 tyres.
The electronics package is Suzuki’s handy easy start system and low RPM assist, which raises engine speed as the clutch lever is fed out, to aid slow speed control and prevent stalling.
The three selectable engine maps are controlled by the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector system. All three deliver the same peak power. Mode A provides the sharpest, sportiest response. Mode B has a softer initial power delivery. And mode C delivers the softest response.
The swift work of gear changes with the help of the bi-directional quick shifter. It undoubtedly makes and enhances performance on sporty rides. And the five modes of traction control keep things in command. On the other hand, it can also be turned off for a raw ride experience.
The 2022 Katana will be available in new colours in dark matt blue, complemented by gold forks and wheels and dark grey with red wheels.
