The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange Opens on CALAX

CALAX Expansion Opens Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange, Unlocking Seamless Travel, Economic Growth, and Enhanced Connectivity Across Cavite

In a move that promises to transform travel in Cavite, MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI), the concessionaire for the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), has unveiled the highly anticipated Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange. This 3.9-kilometer, 2×2 lane subsection of the expressway will significantly enhance travel convenience for motorists across the region.

Motorists to Enjoy Free Passage

Commencing from 12:00 AM on November 8, 2023, motorists will have the privilege of traversing this new subsection free of charge, until further notice. This customer-centric approach aims to make travel on CALAX more accessible and affordable.

Empowering Businesses and Families

“We’re thrilled about this CALAX expansion, which will not only make life easier for our motorists but also boost the local economy. By providing a quicker and more convenient route to popular destinations in Cavite, we’re creating opportunities for businesses to thrive and for families to make the most of their time together,” said Mr. Raul Ignacio, President, and General Manager of MHI.

Relief for Cavite’s Busiest Highway

The Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange will play a pivotal role in alleviating congestion on Cavite’s busiest highway, offering a swifter route to the burgeoning tourism havens of Silang town and Tagaytay City. It is anticipated to accommodate an additional 5,000 daily motorists, granting them seamless access to these vibrant areas.

Enhancing Connectivity and Expanding Benefits

This latest development seamlessly integrates CALAX with Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, further enhancing its accessibility and extending the benefits of convenient travel to the local community and beyond.

CALAX’s Future Expansion

Looking ahead, CALAX is poised for further expansion, reaching a total length of 45 kilometers by 2024. It will feature eight interchanges strategically positioned at Technopark, Laguna Boulevard, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road, Silang East, Silang (Aguinaldo), Governor’s Drive, Open Canal, and Kawit Interchange. CALAX will ultimately connect with the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit, harmoniously uniting key regions. Currently, its operational segments extend from Mamplasan Rotunda to Silang East Interchange.

MPTC: A Champion of Mobility

MPTC stands as the Philippines’ leading mobility infrastructure and solutions provider. It serves as the toll road development arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC). Alongside CALAX and CAVITEX, MPTC holds the concession rights for North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.

The unveiling of the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange marks a significant milestone in the evolution of CALAX. This new subsection will not only benefit motorists but also stimulate the local economy and elevate the overall quality of life in the region. MPTC remains steadfast in its commitment to providing Filipinos with world-class mobility infrastructure and solutions that facilitate connections with loved ones, communities, and opportunities.
