BMW, in the context of the Car Connectivity Consortium, continues ahead with the development and distribution of the BMW Digital Key. The digital key is now available for Android operating system-based smartphones. This update is compatible with smartphone models starting with Samsung Galaxy S21 and Google Pixel 6 devices.
BMW drivers will be able to use the BMW Digital Key in the future. This smart keyless is now available for Android smartphones, starting with Samsung Galaxy S21 Series and Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. BMW customers can easily unlock and lock their cars simply by holding their smartphone next to the handle of the driver’s door.
Start the engine when the mobile phone is placed in the BMW wireless charging compartment. And for ease of use, the MyBMW app is customizable. Moreover, pass the key on to five friends for convenience. Further, the functionalities of the Digital Key Plus are based on ultra-wideband.
The latest stage of development is a close collaboration between BMW, Google, and Samsung. Further improvement and availability of the digital key is in accordance with the global CCC standard (Car Connectivity Consortium) that is soon available for both iOS and Android.
