Riders Rally for Solidarity and the Block Screening Illuminates Fishermen’s Plight Demands Attention
– Alex A – Lifestyle On Wheels
A block screening windowed spectators on August 31, 2025, at the Trinomas Cinemas. Contingent of riders and advocates recently transformed a simple cinematic outing into a powerful act of national solidarity. Leisure riders, commuter riders, and riders who serve a purposeful livelihood gathered for a block screening. It was dedicated to amplifying the harrowing reality faced by Filipino fishermen, the people who provide food for our nation.

The film, FOOD DELIVERY: WEST PHILIPPINE SEA, serves as a mirror reflecting a truth that demands attention. Our fishermen are being systematically obstructed in their own waters. This fact carries severe consequences. It cripples their ability to earn a livelihood and threatens the Philippines’ food security as a whole. The act of being blocked from their traditional grounds is, as the organizers stated, “a reflection of the daily reality of being blocked from your own home.”

This event was far more than an appreciation of cinema. It was a clear message etched in unity and action. By supporting the screening, riders made a collective commitment to the fishermen’s fight. Their presence demands that the public and policymakers recognize this maritime struggle. It is merely a geopolitical issue, but it is a devastating crisis impacting the heart of every Filipino family. And every Filipino relies on the bounty of the sea.
