MPTC Units Gear up for Road Safety Month

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) has launched “Mission: Road Safety” to reinforce its road safety mission based on the three pillars of safety – safe self, safe vehicle and safe roads. The initiative includes road safety awareness seminars and digital information campaigns for the public to ensure their safety on MPTC’s expressways in Luzon and Visayas. MPTC has already established its road safety awareness efforts through various flagship programmes, and business units have been targeting different stakeholders to amplify its safety mission. MPTC Launches ‘Mission: Road Safety’ to Reinforce Safe Driving Practices”

Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) has launched “Mission: Road Safety” to promote road safety awareness on its expressways in the Philippines. The initiative is based on the three pillars of safety – safe self, safe vehicle, and safe roads. Through the initiative, MPTC will organize road safety awareness seminars and digital campaigns to educate the general and motoring public, ensuring their safe journey along its expressways in Luzon and Visayas.

According to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), transport accidents cause an average of 345 fatalities per day in the Philippines. MPTC has already established road safety awareness programs such as Biyahero Road Safety Caravan, Drayberks Drive Road Safety Seminars, and Istorya Ta Bai! to educate motorists and promote safe driving habits.

To further strengthen its efforts, MPTC is targeting various stakeholders, including drivers from bus and trucking companies and neighboring communities, to amplify its safety mission. MPTC also intensifies its operations during peak travel seasons and holidays under the “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” initiative, deploying over 1,200 patrol crews, traffic marshals, and security teams to ensure effective traffic management along its expressways.

MPTC echoes the United Nations’ thrust to prevent at least 50% of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030. MPTC continuously improves its services and provides top-notch customer experience to its stakeholders through its corporate Sustainability Strategic Goals and the MPT DriveHub app, which brings expressway services to the hands of the customer.
