Filipino Engineers Race Toward Fuel Efficiency Glory at Shell Eco-marathon 2024

Sleek vehicles, meticulously designed, slicing through the air with minimal drag. These aren’t your everyday cars; they’re engineering marvels. The secret sauce? Ingenious minds, fueled by passion and a commitment to sustainability.

Serge Bernal, Shell Pilipinas Vice President of Corporate Relations, led the send-off luncheon for the seven Filipino student teams preparing to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon 2024 Asia Pacific and Middle East (APME) competition in Lombok, Indonesia. The Shell Eco-marathon is a global academic program that challenges student teams to design and build energy-efficient vehicles capable of covering long distances.

So, what’s the game plan? Filipino universities are leading the charge, showcasing their prowess in energy-efficient design. From lightweight materials to streamlined aerodynamics, they’re rewriting the rules of the road. And the finish line? Not just about speed—it’s about squeezing every drop of energy from each precious drop of fuel.
