CAVITEX to Conduct Girder Launching Activity

CAVITEX will be conducting a girder launching activity requiring the use of counterflow schemes to ensure the safety of motorists and workers.

Motorists using the Cavitex Expressway (CAVITEX) are advised to take note of the upcoming girder launching activity for the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 R1 Interchange. The activity will be conducted from September 15 to 25, 2023, between 10 PM to 4 AM.

During this period, Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), the concessionaire of CAVITEX, will implement counterflow schemes at the Parañaque Toll Plaza. The scheme will be in effect for both Manila-bound and Cavite-bound traffic.

Cut travel time

CIC President and General Manager Raul L. Ignacio said that the girder launching activity is a critical part of the construction of the CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 2 R1 Interchange. “Once completed, this interchange will help cut travel time to Sucat Road from CAVITEX (Coastal Road) and vice versa by 10 minutes,” he said.

The R-1 Interchange of CAVITEX C5 Link

The R-1 Interchange is a 1.9-kilometer section of the CAVITEX C5 Link project. A 7.7-kilometer, 2×3-lane expressway that will connect CAVITEX R1 to C5 Road in Taguig. Once completed, the project is expected to serve over 50,000 vehicles per day. And significantly reduce travel time between Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, Cavite Province, Makati, and Taguig.
