BIKE FOR DAILY GRIND

Finally, I found the Expressway legal Bike na pwede rin for daily grind… Yes, it’s a KTM ladies & Gentlemen!

LIFESTYLE ON WHEELS – Motorsiklo News

373cc rounded off to 390cc is just the right engine size for me… And Yes, it’s also registered as 400cc so pwede na pumasok sa expressways… Yes, it’s only here in the Philippines that bikes 400cc up can enter the toll ways, So, it’s one of the best thing about this bike.

The review is not about the longetivity of the bike upon usage kasi for me every bikes lifespan depends on how you take care of it…

So this review was based on the experience we had with the bike… so when it comes to people saying di maganda ang motor in the long run eh… nasa pagaalaga niyo yan.

Opo, may naririnig kaming mga ganyan, regarding Duke 390s.

Engine & specs

373cc engine, 1 cylinder with twin overhead camshaft, 4 Stroke, with electric starter and Liquid cooled engine.

Mainit ba ang engine kapag naipit sa traffic… Yes, but it’s not the uncomfortable na init you get with much bigger bikes… this one is tolerable based on my review… it doesn’t overheat, lalo na dahil bago pa ang bike.

That’s another reason why I like to use this for my daily commute.

And you know, ayos eto sa mga leans and banking, yun kasi ay based on a steady torque na may snappy response pagbirit mo palabas ng turn.

Maintenance & Technical

To know more nga pala of the technical aspects of this bike, punta lang kayo sa mga KTM stores, pagdating sa overall technology… ask naman KTM Duke 390 owners mismo to get honest to goodness answers…

Sensya napo for this is just an initial review so we won’t be able to tackle the more technical part.

In terms of fuel consumption, it runs at 28kpl on hiway and mga 25kpl lang sa city traffic based on our review, and kapag may angkas ka 26Kpl sa hiway at 23KPL sa city. This is based on my weight na 190lbs at ang pillion passenger ko na 130lbs. With its 13.4L tank capacity ay tamang tama lang sa timpla…

It’s not a heavy bike… At 149 Kilograms, okay siya in terms of handling. It’s like riding 150cc-250cc standard motorcycles pagdating sa city riding, tulad sa mga pasingit singit sa mga kotse… It really is nimble and it also have the engine to weave in and out traffic fast… thanks to its 65 degrees steering head angle.

Even long riding hours is okay, though a bit upright in ride stance, it doesn’t strain your back lalo na sa kamay dahil ang timbang ng katawan mo ay balanse sa tanke ng motor at sa foot pegs.

It has a supermoto ride stance kaya may pagka aggressive eto sa mga sharp turns and acceleration.

Suspension sa front is WP APEX 43 na merong 142mm travel

And the rear is a WP APEX Monoshock with 150mm travel.

It has a sporty bounce so medyo ramdam mo ang mga kalye, but is smooth enough not to tire you out.

It also has good enough bounce and space for your pillion passenger… yun lang walang makakapitan ang angkas mo sa motor dahil walang rear grab handle and they would need to hold on tight sayo.

The split seats are nice, malambot and sakto sa comfort for the passenger and driver.

The pillion seat opens up and you are able to store items sa loob like your wallet and some papers.

Braking

Brakes are BOSCH 9.1MP Two channel ABS na din Which is Supermoto ABS), with the front having four piston radial fixed calliper 320mm discs and the rear naman ay single piston floating calliper 230mm disc.

I really love the braking system here, ang sarap pahintuin kapag galing sa high speeds.

Malakas ang acceleration dahil sa 1 cylinder siya, pero wala gaanung vibration sa high revs niya. You’ll definitely love the 6 speed transmission as you increase and decrease your speed.

Lalo na dahil slipper clutch na at ride by wire technology na siya kaya maganda ang throttle response.

You can also choose between supermoto mode and road mode… that’s the beauty of the bike’s technology.

It’s 44HP though gave me 145kph top speed…

Now let me show you the tires on this bike. Both 17 inches in diameter, they are made of ultra light cast alloy racing wheels which are stable and magbibigay sayo ng comfort, confidence and durability. 110mm and lapad sa harap and 150mm sa likod… with premium rubber pro-spec tires that surely will keep you glued on the roads in both wet and dry conditions.

Here are some good points of the bike.

The state of the art chassis with its lightweight steel trellis frame, kaya talagang master eto sa mga bends. The bike has the best center of gravity na nagbibigay ng maximum maneuverability and precision. And again the suspensions with all-round performance which is an ultra lightweight, high performance upside down WP forks using the latest open cartridge technology, and the rear shocks’ preload adjustment makes everything even better.

The fuel tank is perfect on your knees contact especially sa mga attacks mo sa likuan… maganda ang yakap sa hita mo.

Exhaust is lightweight improving balance and handling, habang nagbibigay ng smooth pero halimaw na power.. laging galit sa arangkada.

Very good ang handlebar neto…

Upright siya kaya kayang controllin ang mga aggressive body positions, now you can easily dominate all aspects of riding.

Sa mga banatan sa corners at sa mga biglang tigil… these bars will give you the balance and confidence you need.

The clutch and brake levers are also adjustable, giving you that opportunity to input your personal riding style.

From relax riding to hardcore heavy duty riding… galing!

Syempre meron din etong TFT colour display which is absolutely first class. It presents all the data you need. At ang the best part is that it adapts its colour sa mga lighting conditions ng surroundings mo.

Also, it has Different modes for the various built-in assistance systems can be selected using an illuminated menu switch on the left side of the handlebar. It’s very simple and intuitive:…

It also gives you the option to tether your smartphone directly to your bike via advanced KTM MY RIDE seen sa TFT Dislpay.

Yun lang you will still need to have your smartphone attached on a bracket to use WAZE for navigation.

This Duke has the best headlights in the market today.

It’s sporty but practical as well, and produces outstanding visibility in low light conditions. And all the lights here in this bike are LED.

The KTM Duke 390 is one of the best bikes in terms of quality, and for an expressway legal bike… it’s great for daily ride.

If I only have the budget to get another bike… surely kukuha ako neto, it is the answer to what I’m looking for in a sub 400cc motorcycle.

For the price of P240,000… Hmmm, not bad!

Okay guys, that’s our take on the new KTM Duke 390 and we hope you guys liked our review.

Hanggang sa muli po nating pagkikita…
